You're not STUCK with DUCT

Updated: May 17

Ductless air conditioning cools just one room or a single space where ductwork is not present in your home. Homeowners can install up to five indoor ductless units throughout their home, all connected to just one outdoor unit, in order to cool multiple spaces at once.

What is Ductless Air Conditioning?

A ductless ac unit, also called a mini split AC system is a product that delivers cool air to a single room, or several rooms, where ductwork isn’t possible or wanted. Ductless AC units are a great option for new additions, sunrooms, garages or areas of the home that need to be cooler.

How does a ductless AC unit work?

A ductless air conditioner works just like a conventional split central air conditioner in that it has an indoor unit and an outdoor unit (hence the name mini split system). Unlike a bulky and ugly window air conditioner, a ductless air conditioner is mounted to a wall, ceiling or placed in the floor - and a small hole is cut that leads to the outdoor unit where warm air is expelled. After that, the ductless mini split system works just like a traditional air conditioner - just without the expensive and obtrusive ductwork.

Other types of mini-split systems

Ductless systems can be configured in several ways. There are mini-split air conditioners and mini-split heat pumps that can both cool and heat a room, as well as ductless zoning systems that allow you to tie several rooms together.

Ductless AC unit maintenance

A ductless air conditioner needs similar care and maintenance as a traditional AC unit. Get mini split HVAC troubleshooting tips and ductless systems maintenance advice to prolong the life of your system.
